China Power Engineering Consulting Group North China Power Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. (English abbreviation NCPE, hereinafter referred to as the Company) is a large state-owned enterprise restructured from the North China Power Engineering Design Institute under the former Ministry of Electric Power Industry, established in 1953. It is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Planning and Engineering Co., Ltd.

The Company actively builds itself into a value-creating international engineering company, providing clients with high-level engineering consulting, survey and design, and general contracting services leveraging its strong comprehensive technical strength and project management capabilities. The legal representative of the Company is Chairman Wang Yu, with a registered capital of 1 billion RMB.

The Company is a backbone enterprise in national large-scale engineering survey and design, engineering consulting, and engineering general contracting, with independent rights to foreign operations and foreign trade. It holds a comprehensive range of engineering qualification certificates, including national Grade A comprehensive qualifications for engineering design, Grade A comprehensive qualifications for engineering survey, and Grade A engineering consulting credibility, totaling more than 20 types of qualifications. It can undertake consulting, survey and design, general contracting, project management, bidding agency, engineering supervision, and equipment manufacturing supervision for construction projects across all industries (and all grades). It can also undertake special designs, assessments, and evaluations for environmental protection, geological hazard design, hydrological and water resources assessment, soil and water conservation, pressure pipelines, pressure vessels, photogrammetry and remote sensing, geographic information, road transport, as well as equipment procurement.

The Company consistently adheres to the management philosophy of "simplicity, efficiency, openness, and progression," committed to building a scientific and efficient modern enterprise management system, continuously innovating its operational mechanisms, improving its management mechanisms, and steadily enhancing lean management. The Company has established quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management systems covering all business scopes. It has built an international engineering company management system with design as the leading function, integrating design, procurement, construction, commissioning services, fully functional, and standardized management. The Company has been repeatedly awarded the title of "National Advanced Enterprise for Quality and Benefit in the Power Industry" and received the "National Power Industry Special Quality Award." It has consistently ranked among the top 50 enterprises in the national comprehensive strength of survey and design enterprises, and has been rated by the internationally authoritative ENR magazine among the world's top 225 general contractors, China's top 80 contractors, and the top 60 engineering design enterprises. ENR has also recognized the Company as China's most growth-oriented engineering design enterprise. Additionally, it has received honors such as "National Civilized Unit," "Outstanding Enterprise in the National Power Industry," and "Advanced Enterprise in the National Survey and Design Industry."

The Company has always emphasized the supporting and guiding role of technological innovation in enterprise development. It has led or participated in the compilation of over 150 national and industry standards, and has received more than 1,030 awards at the provincial and ministerial levels or above. In recent years, the Company has continuously increased its investment in science and technology, actively conducting research in areas such as ultra-supercritical, gas turbine, circulating fluidized bed, highly efficient energy-saving and ultra-clean emission power generation technologies; UHV power transmission and transformation, flexible AC/DC power transmission, and next-generation smart substation technologies; offshore wind power, large-scale onshore wind power, solar photovoltaic power generation, solar thermal power generation, biomass power generation, energy storage, and other new energy power generation technologies; multi-energy complementarity, IGCC and coal gasification, large-scale air cooling, comprehensive utilization of lignite, seawater desalination, digital power plants, urban utility tunnels, municipal water affairs, and noise control, achieving certain technological advantages. Currently, the Company holds 487 national patents, 12 proprietary technologies in the power industry, and 30 computer software copyrights. The Company has established a post-doctoral research workstation and a graduate workstation. The China Electrotechnical Society Power Civil Engineering Specialized Committee, the China Power Planning and Design Association Electric Control Specialized Committee, and the China Power Planning and Design Association Engineering Construction Project Management Specialized Committee are based in the Company.

As of the end of 2018, the Company had completed a total of 1,355 power generation, transmission, and transformation engineering designs. The total designed capacity of 448 large and medium-sized power generation projects at home and abroad reached 121.96 million kilowatts, accounting for nearly one-tenth of the country's total thermal power installed capacity. The total length of 351 power transmission engineering routes reached 24,226 kilometers. The total designed capacity of 341 substation projects reached 193,080 megavolt-amperes. Over the past decade, the Company has undertaken more than 70 general contracting projects domestically and internationally, with contract amounts exceeding 100 billion RMB. Domestic projects are distributed across 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, while overseas projects involve more than 20 countries and regions including Nigeria, Belarus, Australia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Angola, Lithuania, Mongolia, Armenia, Kenya, and Vietnam. The Company has established sound business and technical exchanges with companies and organizations in more than 20 countries and regions such as the United States, Germany, France, and Switzerland. It has evolved from a single power industry survey and design enterprise into a full-chain engineering company initially built to integrate high-end consulting, survey and design, construction, procurement and logistics, supervision, operation and maintenance, and other full lifecycle, full-process integrated services for engineering projects. It has not only achieved fruitful results in "going global" but also won acclaim for the country on the world stage.

The Company owns multiple domestic and overseas wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries, including Guodian North China International Power Engineering (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Guodian Desheng Engineering Project Management Co., Ltd., Beijing Guodian De'an Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Beijing Guoyan North China Technical Testing Co., Ltd., Beijing Guoxin Youkong System Technology Co., Ltd., North China Power Engineering Nigeria Co., Ltd., and Lithuania ETI Joint-Stock Co., Ltd., among others, and possesses technical advantages in engineering supervision, project management, bidding and agency, logistics, equipment manufacturing supervision, urban grid renovation, distributed power supply design and general contracting.
