Chongqing Vocational College of Resources and Environmental Protection is a full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education (institution code: 14557). The college is invested and established by Chongqing Jueqi Investment Co., Ltd. It is a higher vocational school at the junior college level, focusing on environmental protection majors, with a provisional full-time student enrollment of 6,000. The college is located in Xichan Community, Longgang Street, Dazu District, Chongqing, known as the hometown of Chinese stone carving and the capital of Western hardware. The college has seven departments: Department of Environmental Engineering, Department of Environmental Science, Department of Circular Economy and Low-Carbon Economy, Department of Environmental Art and Service, Department of Ecological Environment, Department of Construction Management, and Department of Public Management. Following the concept of whole-process environmental protection management, it will offer more than 20 majors and establish a major system covering the entire chain from clean production at the source of environmental protection to circular economy in the middle and end-of-pipe engineering treatment and its extended majors. It is a full-time ordinary higher education institution mainly dedicated to cultivating professionals in resources and environmental protection. In the first phase, it offers six majors: Environmental Engineering Technology (Environmental Monitoring and Treatment Technology), Environmental Evaluation and Consulting Services (Resources, Environment and Urban Management), Environmental Art Design, Real Estate Operation and Management (Real Estate Operation and Appraisal), Engineering Cost, and Road Maintenance and Management (High-Grade Highway Maintenance and Management). The college encourages students to obtain bachelor's degrees through pathways such as associate-to-bachelor's articulation and upgrading from junior college to undergraduate. The college will also establish cooperative education with well-known foreign universities to provide opportunities for students to study abroad. The college attaches importance to faculty development, actively relying on the strong faculty advantages of universities such as Chongqing University and Southwest University and the Chongqing Democratic League organization. By introducing high-level faculty talents and hiring a group of well-known experts from universities, research institutes, and enterprises as visiting professors, it builds a first-class part-time teaching team. At the same time, the college is increasing investment to build a full-time teaching team with high ideological quality and rich teaching experience. It has recruited 70 full-time teachers and 36 management staff nationwide. At present, it is stepping up the formation of an excellent combined full-time and part-time faculty and management team to make full preparations for welcoming the first cohort of new students. The college strengthens library collection development, striving to reach 500,000 books (including e-books) within 5 years, 100 books per student. It strives to achieve an annual intake of paper books of more than 20 books per student, with breakthrough growth in the variety and quantity of e-books, various journals, and literature materials.
