Innovation First International (IFI) was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Greenville, Texas, USA. It is a research and development-oriented high-tech enterprise. IFI initially focused on the research, development and manufacturing of unmanned ground robots and has now become an industry leader. The VEX robot design system developed by IFI is a leading educational robotics platform and won the Best Innovation Award at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The company has three major brands: Rack Solutions, VEX Educational Robotics, and HEXBUG smart toys.
In 1999, Rack Solutions was established, providing global customers with data center and computer server cabinet/rack-related products and services. Its products cover cabinets, rails, racks, KVMs and accessories, and its services cover the entire process from design to construction. Because it is good at working closely with industry-leading OEM enterprises, Rack Solutions has solved many installation problems caused by inconsistent rack standards and, with its efficient and satisfactory customer service, has earned a reputation in the industry as a rack problem-solving expert.
In 2004, IFI established its subsidiary VEX Robotics, Inc. – it is the designer and manufacturer of VEX robots and the owner of the VEX brand, the sole component supplier for VEX Robotics Competition, and one of the main sponsors of the VEX World Championship held annually in the United States. Participating in the VEX Robotics Competition not only cultivates students' STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)-related academic skills, but also gives students opportunities to exercise skills in time and personnel management, handling pressure, and teamwork.
For many years, the VEX Robotics Competition has been widely praised as the most influential worldwide student robotics competition. The VEX Robotics Competition is divided into four divisions: elementary school, middle school, high school and university, with different levels of competition projects such as VEX IQ, VRC and VEX U for different divisions. Every April, the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) holds the VEX World Championship in the United States and announces the competition theme and rules for the new season of the next year. Under the rules, students can unleash their unlimited imagination, create robots belonging to their own teams, and compete and exchange with other teams from around the world.
In 2007, with years of experience in designing and manufacturing robotics series equipment, IFI founded the toy brand HEXBUG based on its background as a technology company. 'Learning through play' is the founding purpose of HEXBUG, aiming to let children come into contact with scientific knowledge from an early age, experience its mysteries, and cultivate and inspire their curiosity and thirst for knowledge through play. HEXBUG has won the Toy of the Year award from the US TOTY Awards, known as the 'Oscars of the toy industry', for three consecutive years, and has多次 won the 'Mom's Best Choice' toy award voted by American mothers and countless other industry and public awards.
HEXBUG smart robotic toys are designed in different series for children aged 3 and above. Automatic, remote-controlled and assembly-type smart robotic toys give children of different age groups different choices.
