Hunan International Economics University

Hunan International Economics University is a private regular undergraduate institution invested and established by Hunan Falcon Industrial Co., Ltd. The school was founded in May 1997, and in 1998 it relocated to Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and was renamed 'Hunan International Economics University.' In 2000, it was approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government as a private regular higher vocational college and included in the national planned enrollment. In 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution. The school currently has 22,207 full-time undergraduate and junior college students, 1,648 faculty and staff members, and 1,129 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 75 professors, 155 associate professors, 49 Ph.D. holders, 374 teachers with master's degrees, 5 experts receiving special allowances from the State Council, and more than 10 foreign teachers, forming a high-level teaching team with full-time teachers as the main body and professors and Ph.D. holders as the leaders. The school currently has 86 various laboratories, among which the computer, electronics, and economics laboratories have reached domestic advanced levels. The school library has a total of 1.39 million paper books, 1,746 types of periodicals, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 89.12 million yuan. The school offers 24 undergraduate programs and 34 junior college programs, basically forming a pattern with foreign-related economics and foreign-related management programs as the main features, key development of science and engineering programs such as computer, electronics, numerical control, and communication, and coordinated development of literature, law, and art programs. The school attaches great importance to discipline and program development, and currently has 1 provincial key development discipline, 4 provincial excellent courses, and 2 characteristic programs at or above the provincial level. With the goal of building a 'Century-Old International Economics University, First-Class International Economics University' and the motto of 'Striving for Perfection, Self-Reliance and Self-Improvement,' the school adheres to the three school-running principles of 'simultaneous development of general education and vocational education,' 'coordinated development of scale and quality,' and 'honest school-running.' It has proposed the nine-character goal of 'let students truly learn something' and the eight-character policy of 'equality, respect, responsibility, and efficiency' for administrative work, forming its own unique campus culture. The school vigorously promotes the talent cultivation model of 'major + foreign language + skills + entrepreneurial quality,' and builds a curriculum model of 'broad foundation' and 'flexible modules' according to the principles of 'strong positions,' 'solid foundation,' and 'emphasis on practice.' The school focuses on cultivating students' practical ability and entrepreneurial ability, and has established a vocational skills training center to provide students with 48 kinds of vocational skills training, allowing students to obtain English, computer application ability grade certificates, driver's licenses, and professional qualification certificates related to their majors while obtaining academic diplomas. The school has invested heavily in building first-class numerical control mold training centers, car driving training centers, car disassembly and maintenance training bases, hotel management training centers, Boeing 737 simulation training cabins, golf courses, golf driving ranges, and a number of other training bases and venues, providing good conditions for students' practical training and internships. Due to outstanding practical and entrepreneurial abilities, our graduates are widely welcomed by society, and the employment rate has remained above 90%. The school has been rated as an 'Advanced Unit for Graduate Employment Work in Hunan Higher Education Institutions' by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. The school has been successively selected by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the Hunan Provincial Department of Education as an 'Advanced Unit for Private Education in Hunan Province' and one of the 'Top Ten Private Schools in Hunan Province.'
