SAIC-GM Dongyue Base, comprising SAIC-GM Dongyue Automobile Co., Ltd. and SAIC-GM Dongyue Powertrain Co., Ltd., was jointly established by SAIC Group, GM (China), and SAIC-GM Automobile with capital contributions of 25%, 25%, and 50% respectively. It now houses four major vehicle production processes—stamping, body, painting, and final assembly—as well as powertrain workshops for engines and transmissions. Its products cover series such as Buick Envision/Envision S/Envision Plus, Encora GX, Excelle, and Chevrolet Tracker, Orlando, Cavalier, along with various models of engines and transmissions. As an important vehicle and powertrain manufacturing base for SAIC-GM Automobile, the SAIC-GM Dongyue Base extends SAIC-GM Automobile's production, management, and quality systems, sharing resources and implementing integrated management with SAIC-GM Automobile. It has passed GM's GMS BIQ Level IV quality certification, IATF16949:2016 quality management system certification, ISO14001 environmental management system certification, ISO50001 energy management system certification, ISO45001 occupational health and safety management system certification, and CCC certification, laying a solid foundation for manufacturing high-quality products. As a leading enterprise in the automotive industry of Yantai City and even Shandong Province, the SAIC-GM Dongyue Base has played a significant role in driving industrial supporting, providing employment, paying taxes in accordance with the law, and improving the level of manufacturing. It has won numerous honors such as "China Quality and Integrity Enterprise," "Outstanding Enterprise of Shandong Province," and "Top Ten Meritorious Enterprises of Yantai City," with annual total tax payments ranking among the top in the province and city, making important contributions to the economic and social development of the local area.
