My Gym was founded in 1983 through the joint efforts of William Caplin and Yakov & Susi Sherman. The first two centers were located in Santa Monica and Van Nuys, California. Leveraging their professional experience in early childhood education, kinesiology, sports, dance, and gymnastics, these founders developed a complete curriculum system and teaching equipment that align with children's nature, aiming to help children build strong bodies, cultivate good social skills, and establish self-esteem and confidence through weekly structured classes.
In early 2009, My Gym came to China and opened its first center in Beijing. Advanced teaching equipment, well-trained teachers, numerous award-winning courses, and a reasonable student-to-teacher ratio have earned My Gym a high reputation in the field of early education in China. My Gym has grown rapidly in China, and its footprint now spans over half of the country. In 2011, My Gym China fully introduced Music Together, a music early education curriculum with 23 years of history and the leading program in the United States, and Abrakadoodle, the most comprehensive children's art education curriculum in the United States, making it the first early education institution globally to offer these three outstanding early education courses simultaneously.
