Tiantongyuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Changping District, Beijing, was founded in May 2005. It is currently a Grade II Level A traditional Chinese medicine hospital (non-profit hospital), a council member unit of the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, a member unit of the Beijing Medical Insurance Association, and a designated medical institution for Beijing basic medical insurance. In April 2006, the hospital established the Tiantongyuan First Aid Station of the Beijing Emergency Center, which operates 24 hours a day, opening an emergency channel for community residents. After years of unremitting efforts, on March 2, 2016, the hospital reached a strategic cooperation with Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Capital Medical University, and was officially listed as a technology cooperation hospital of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Capital Medical University. The hospital has 16 first-level clinical departments including General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal and Child Health Care, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Stomatology, Otolaryngology, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Medical Laboratory, and Medical Imaging; it also has 19 second-level clinical departments including Respiratory Medicine, Encephalopathy, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Geriatrics, Endodontics, Dental Implantology, Orthodontics, and Pediatric Dentistry; it has three wards: Internal Medicine Ward 1, Internal Medicine Ward 2, and Surgical and Gynecological Ward, with 100 open beds, including ordinary wards and special-need wards, to meet the inpatient treatment needs of different patients. Auxiliary departments include Medical Imaging (X-ray diagnosis, CT diagnosis, MRI diagnosis, ultrasound diagnosis, and electrocardiogram diagnosis), Laboratory, and Pharmacy, equipped with Siemens 1.5T MRI, imported American GE 16-slice CT, imported German AGFA X-ray digital imaging system, dental CT, C-arm; laboratory equipment such as automatic biochemical analyzer, automatic blood cell analyzer, coagulation analyzer, glycated hemoglobin analyzer, electrolyte analyzer, hemorheology analyzer, microplate reader, plate washer, and Abbott blood gas analyzer; examination equipment such as Philips color Doppler ultrasound, Baisson color Doppler ultrasound, transcranial Doppler ultrasound, bone densitometry, pulmonary function, and peripheral arterial detection, providing patients with accurate examination and treatment. The hospital gathers traditional Chinese medicine experts as the core, participating in expert outpatient services and ward management. In December 2010, the hospital established a special diagnosis and treatment area for traditional Chinese medicine. By applying distinctive TCM diagnostic methods and combining the ever-changing compatibility of Chinese herbal medicines for syndrome differentiation and treatment, it has achieved good results in treating common diseases and difficult miscellaneous diseases.
