Dongfeng Yangtze River Automobile (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yangtze River Automobile") originated from the Wuhan Public Automobile Repair Workshop in 1929, was established as a factory in 1950, later renamed Wuhan Public Bus Factory, and restructured in 2004, specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of complete urban buses.
In 2010, the company moved to Wuhan Jinyintan Industrial Park. The new base has a construction area of 140,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 10,000 buses, making it the largest urban bus production base in central China. The company has successively established subsidiaries such as Delian, Haopin, Yingkang Huitong, and Xin'ao Yangtze River, developing businesses in mining trucks, RVs, new energy technology, and clean energy supply chains.
Yangtze River Automobile is a key manufacturer of large buses and machinery in the country, a member unit of the China Urban Vehicle Experts Committee, and the Hubei Provincial Urban Bus Engineering Technology Research Center. It holds the national qualification for complete new energy vehicle production, and has passed the national 3C production certification and TS16949 quality system certification.
Yangtze River Automobile's products cover buses, RVs, mining trucks, special vehicles, and new energy components, forming a variety of vehicles from 6 to 18 meters including diesel, natural gas, new energy, and trolleybuses, widely used in urban public transport, group tourism, highway passenger transport, and special vehicles. Products are sold in more than 80 cities across China, and service stations have been established in 32 provinces and municipalities directly under the central government. Currently, Yangtze River buses have been exported to overseas markets such as Myanmar, Peru, Bangladesh, and Thailand, generating 30 million USD in export earnings.
Yangtze River Automobile has ten years of experience in new energy research and development and has achieved multiple results. In 2002, China's first diesel-electric hybrid bus was born at Yangtze River Automobile. In 2012, the launch and operation of opportunity-charged pure electric vehicles introduced a new path for China's new energy vehicle development model.
In the next five years, Yangtze River Automobile will become a diversified large enterprise group covering buses, RVs, special vehicles, new energy complete vehicles and component supply chains, clean energy supply chains, and will build an automotive research center, integrating production, education, and research, aiming to be a first-class domestic large group.
