Wuhan Wuzhong Hospital is a national secondary-level non-profit psychiatric specialized hospital registered with the Hubei Provincial Health Commission and approved by the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission. The hospital focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental and psychological disorders and has established a diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation center for mental and psychological disorders. The hospital is a member unit of the Psychiatry and Psychology Professional Committee of the Chinese Non-Governmental Medical Institutions Association, a member unit of the Hubei Provincial Psychiatric Medical Alliance, a designated treatment unit for severely mentally ill patients prone to causing trouble or accidents in Wuhan, and a technical guidance institution for mental health prevention and treatment in Hongshan District, Wuhan. It undertakes the standardized management of mental disease prevention and treatment in Hongshan District, providing technical guidance, supervision, professional training, emergency response, consultation for difficult cases, and diagnostic review of severe mental illness to relevant departments. After the completion of the fourth-phase expansion and renovation project in June 2022, the hospital's total bed capacity reached 800, and it has applied to become a tertiary-level psychiatric specialized hospital. The diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation center for mental and psychological disorders has 600 open beds and 6 wards, including Psychiatry Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, VIP Ward 4, VIP Ward 5, and the Clinical Psychology Department. The main campus also has psychology and psychiatry outpatient clinics, offering psychological counseling and treatment clinics, as well as general and expert psychiatry clinics. It has a large number of renowned psychiatric experts and psychotherapists in the province, and the core medical and nursing team all come from top-tier teaching hospitals. The hospital has published more than 50 papers, undertaken multiple national and provincial-level or above research projects, and participates in more than 30 domestic and international academic conferences and exchanges each year. It receives more than 100 interns annually and became a national clinical training base for psychotherapists in 2020, undertaking clinical teaching and practical training tasks in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
