China Merchants Shekou Industrial Zone Holdings Co., Ltd. (referred to as "China Merchants Shekou", stock code 001979) is the flagship enterprise of the urban comprehensive development and operation sector under China Merchants Group (a key state-owned enterprise directly managed by the central government and one of the four major Chinese-funded enterprises in Hong Kong), and is an important core asset integration and business synergy platform of China Merchants Group in China.
China Merchants Shekou was founded in 1979. The Shekou area of Shenzhen, which was constructed, developed and operated 38 years ago, is the birthplace of China's reform and opening up, and has made important historical contributions to China's economic development, incubating and nurturing well-known enterprises such as China Merchants Bank, Ping An Insurance, CIMC Group, and China Merchants Property. On December 30, 2015, China Merchants Shekou absorbed and merged with China Merchants Property to achieve an unprecedented restructuring and listing, creating a model for state-owned enterprise reform and a benchmark for innovation in China's capital market.
In 2011, China Merchants Shekou settled in Wuhan, with seven projects in seven years — China Merchants Yonghua Mansion, China Merchants Park 1872, China Merchants Jiangwan International, China Merchants Yijiang Jingcheng, China Merchants Dongcheng Huafu, China Merchants Yuewang, and China Merchants Shiguang Li. The company's project footprint covers the three towns of Wuhan. By the end of 2017, the land reserve of the Wuhan company had reached 1.2 million square meters; and it successfully completed the capital increase and share expansion of the WISCO cooperation platform company and the Dongfeng Real Estate merger and acquisition project, becoming a model of central enterprise integration and a *** order for asset package mergers and acquisitions, achieving sustainable development of the company.
