Whales English was founded in 2012 by parents at home and abroad who care about children's English education. Initially operated as a non-profit organization, it accumulated over ten thousand students and nearly a thousand excellent North American foreign teachers through a good reputation. In December 2017, it received a 15 million yuan Pre-A round of financing led by Sumble Capital. In January 2018, it began commercial operations and entered a rapid development stage. In July, it received a US$10 million Series A round of financing led by Qingxin Capital with Sumble Capital following, and officially participated in the *Project's 13th Five-Year education plan. In February 2020, it completed a 100 million yuan Series B financing, led by Sino-Ocean Capital Co., Ltd., with Sumble Capital and Qingxin Capital following, and Tahe Capital serving as the sole financial advisor. In January 2021, it announced the completion of a 120 million yuan Series B+ financing, led by New Oriental, with Sino-Ocean Capital following, and Tahe Capital continuing as the sole financial advisor. In November 2018, performance increased nearly nine times compared to the same period last year, achieving positive net cash flow and becoming a leader in online children's English class courses. Whales English introduced the Reach series textbooks from National Geographic Learning to provide children with high-quality multidisciplinary English courses, authentically recreating the teaching scenarios of American primary and secondary classrooms, and through peer interactive learning, comprehensively enhancing children's four core abilities of "listening, speaking, reading, and writing," while cultivating their subject knowledge and international perspective. Whales English also pioneered and adheres to the online "fixed teacher, fixed peers, fixed schedule" 'three fixed' class operation model, allowing children to study regularly with fixed foreign teachers and familiar peers, striving to give children the best learning interest, experience, and outcomes.
