Founded in March 2002, based on the scientific research achievements of Fudan University, the company began to undertake international paclitaxel API processing business. After years of hard work, the company has become a leading enterprise in China in terms of processing volume of Taxus chinensis branches and leaves. Subsequently, it successfully developed products such as docetaxel, irinotecan, and etoposide, expanding from natural extraction anticancer drugs to plant-derived anticancer drug raw materials. In recent years, it has also developed products like fludarabine phosphate and palonosetron hydrochloride, moving from plant-derived anticancer drug raw materials to broad-spectrum anticancer drug raw materials. In 2012, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Zhongxi Sanwei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai Pharmaceuticals, and serves as the development base for Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Group's anti-tumor APIs.
The company has a GMP-standard API plant in Qingpu Liantang Industrial Park for producing paclitaxel, docetaxel, and other anticancer APIs, covering an area of 17,776 square meters. It possesses a complete extraction and processing technology from branches, leaves, bark, and roots to 99.5% pure products, forming an annual processing capacity of 200-300 kilograms of 99.5% paclitaxel. The R&D institution mainly consists of phytochemical R&D center, synthetic R&D center, pilot plant, and product testing center, collectively referred to as the R&D center. The company has introduced a batch of high-tech experimental equipment and possesses strong scientific research strength in infrastructure and human resources.
In 2015, the company invested in establishing a 50,000-mu Taxus planting base in Dali, Yunnan, with 5 million Taxus plants, capable of producing 500 tons of 10-DAB III and Taxus branches and leaves with high paclitaxel content annually. The newly built factory and testing laboratories can distinguish Taxus germplasm sources and track real-time changes in branch and leaf content, laying the foundation for experimental planting of medicinal herbs and further research on medicinal resources.
