Shanghai Jingwei Architectural Planning and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Institute), founded in 1992, is a high-tech enterprise with Grade A qualifications for urban-rural planning, architectural engineering design, landscape architecture engineering design, and municipal special design. It pioneered the path for non-public enterprises to obtain national Grade A qualifications in three categories. The company has over 600 professional and technical personnel, with a full range of specialties, including national registered planners, first-class registered architects, first-class registered structural engineers, registered equipment engineers, and registered real estate appraisers. The company's business scope covers the whole country and has 20 branches. With the joint approval of the competent housing and urban-rural development authorities and the competent commercial authorities, it established a wholly-owned overseas subsidiary, LDG International, in Los Angeles, USA, with a registered capital of USD 1 million. The company is a high-tech enterprise and owns several important wholly-owned subsidiaries, including Shanghai Jianxue SME Innovation Service Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Jingwei Urban Development Consulting Co., Ltd., among other design and consulting institutions. At present, it has completed the filing for the New Third Board (National Equities Exchange and Quotations) and is in the second review period. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the domestic and international macro environment and industry environment, and in response to market transformation needs, the Institute has identified four core industrial areas as its work focus: urbanization and new rural construction, green and energy-efficient buildings, architectural planning and design and consulting for the elderly care industry, and affordable housing. Jingwei Design Institute places emphasis on talent cultivation, professional improvement, and quality control. In 2002, it passed the ISO9001:2000 quality management system certification both internationally and domestically, and has since successfully passed the annual review of the quality management system. In 2006, it became a demonstration unit for the legitimate use of Autodesk software. In 2003, the Institute obtained the independent intellectual property certificate for the "full duplex residential housing design" issued by the national intellectual property authority, and also holds 23 software copyrights. Every year, the technical backbone of the enterprise publishes more than ten professional papers, and has published five monographs with a total of 2.2 million words, including "A Handbook for Urban Planning, Design and Management", "Urban Road Traffic Planning and Design", "Methods and Research on Urban Style Planning", "The Value Theory of Sloped Villa", and "Low-Carbon and Urban Landscape". It has participated in the compilation of five national standards and is currently participating in the compilation of seven national standards, including smart city research and building information modeling (BIM) research across the entire life cycle. The legal representative and chairman of the board, Ye Songqing, is a director and senior member of the Architectural Society of China; vice chairman and secretary-general of the Shanghai Architectural Society; representative of the 10th Shanghai Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China; deputy director of the Urban-Rural Development and Environmental Protection Working Committee of the People's Congress of Yangpu District, Shanghai; secretary-general of the Design Services Special Committee of Shanghai Association of Modern Service Industry; and president of Shanghai Private Design Enterprise Association. Vice president and secretary of the Party General Branch, Zhang Bang, is a national model worker and one of Shanghai's top ten young planners. In 2013, he was named "Shanghai 'Model Worker Innovation Studio' - Zhang Bang Planning and Design Consulting Innovation Studio (No. 049)" by the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions; in 2014, with the approval of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, the Jingwei Academician and Expert Workstation was established, led by Academician Jiang Huancheng, composed of national first-class industry experts in architecture, planning, and landscape, aiming to build a solid backing for the technological strength of the Institute; in 2015, the Institute became one of the six founding members of the "Green Building and Building Energy Efficiency" model worker innovation studio alliance in Shanghai's construction system.
