Shanghai Tianyou Hospital is a mixed-ownership general hospital founded by Tongji University together with Lansheng Group in accordance with tertiary hospital standards. The name 'Tianyou' is taken in memory of Zhan Tianyou, the father of Chinese railways, with the determination to inherit and carry forward the great spiritual legacy left by pioneers, and with the motto 'Virtue and trust as the foundation, precise medicine for the people'. Tianyou Hospital is a designated medical insurance institution in Shanghai, a civilized unit in Putuo District, a member of the Taopu Health Community, an international JCI-accredited hospital, a station of the Shanghai 120 Emergency Center, a member of the National Respiratory Specialty Medical Alliance, and a member of the Shanghai Kidney Warriors Home, the Osteoarthritis Medical Alliance of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital and Shanghai Tianyou Hospital, and the Infertility (Reproductive Medicine) Medical Alliance of Ruijin Hospital.

In the first phase, the hospital has opened more than 900 beds, with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and NICU (Neuro Intensive Care Unit) wards, 2 laminar flow operating rooms of class 100, 4 laminar flow operating rooms of class 1000, and 1 positive-negative pressure conversion laminar flow operating room of class 10000. It is equipped with advanced equipment such as Philips wide-angle magnetic resonance, Philips 64-slice spiral CT, large hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Swedish Elekta medical linear accelerator, color Doppler ultrasound (HD15OB), German Fresenius hemodialysis machine, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) system, hysteroscope, laparoscope, and so on.
