Founded in 1996, MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute) is a leading open-access journal publishing company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, with branches in China, Spain, Serbia, the UK, Japan, Romania, Canada, Poland, and Singapore. In China, it has 7 offices located in Tongzhou, Beijing; Haidian, Beijing; Wuhan, Hubei; Tianjin; Nanjing, Jiangsu; Guanggu, Hubei; and Dalian, Liaoning. Since its establishment, it has launched more than 390 English-language scientific journals, including nearly 90 SCIE journals such as Molecules, Sensors, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and Marine Drugs. Mandipi (Beijing) Technology Service Co., Ltd. was established in 2008, mainly responsible for editorial services for MDPI Publishing. It currently has more than 1,500 full-time employees, including over 1,200 with master's or doctoral degrees. In April 2013, the Wuhan representative office was established: Mandipi (Wuhan) Technology Service Co., Ltd., currently with over 1,200 full-time employees, of whom more than 600 hold master's or doctoral degrees. In September 2019, the Tianjin representative office was established: Mandipi (Tianjin) Technology Service Co., Ltd., currently with over 600 full-time employees, of whom more than 370 hold master's or doctoral degrees. In May 2021, the Nanjing representative office was established: Mandipi (Nanjing) Technology Service Co., Ltd., currently with over 230 full-time employees, of whom more than 170 hold master's or doctoral degrees. In July 2021, the Guanggu representative office was established: Mandipi (Guanggu) Technology Service Co., Ltd., currently with over 300 full-time employees, of whom more than 290 hold master's or doctoral degrees.
