Founded in 2016, Saijun Bio is a leading enterprise in the research and development of allogeneic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell new drugs in China, and also the enterprise with the largest number of clinical approvals for stem cell drugs and the fastest clinical development progress in South China. After ten years of deep cultivation, Saijun Bio has built a professional team integrating industry, academia, research, and medicine, established a 3000㎡ GMP-standard stem cell clinical translation platform laboratory, passed CNAS L17624 laboratory accreditation and ISO9001 certification, co-built the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine with Sun Yat-sen University, and participated in the compilation of two group standards for the stem cell industry. Saijun Bio's core product, CG-BM1 allogeneic human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell injection, has obtained 5 INDs, with approved indications including acute-on-chronic liver failure, ischemic stroke, acute respiratory distress syndrome, senile sarcopenia, and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Among them, the phase II clinical trial for the acute-on-chronic liver failure indication has been unblinded, with the overall R&D progress at a leading level. The company has now established a multi-center clinical research network and has conducted 9 IITs in collaboration with top tier-A hospitals in China, including the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Saijun Bio leads the key special project of the national key R&D program during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, 'Stem Cell Research and Organ Repair'; has applied for a total of 15 patents and obtained 11 authorized patents, building technical barriers. At the same time, the company is accelerating the clinical trials and commercialization of its core products, and has launched projects in three pioneering pilot zones including Boao Lecheng, Hebei Beidaihe, and Guangzhou Nansha, providing patients with safe and effective treatment options. Development History: 2003-2008: Established the Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Research Center of Sun Yat-sen University; approved as the Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering of the Ministry of Education. 2009-2016: First registered in Clinical Trial, conducted more than 3000 cases of stem cell clinical research; achieved multiple world-first MSC research results. March 15, 2016: Guangzhou Saijun Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was officially established in Guangzhou Science City. 2016: Successfully formed an innovative R&D team of 'industry-university-research-medicine' with Professor Xiang Peng, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, as chief scientist. 2019: Co-built the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine with Sun Yat-sen University (approved by the National Development and Reform Commission). 2021: Obtained the first IND approval (indication: ARDS); completed A+ round financing. 2022: Obtained IND approval for ACLF indication. 2023: Completed phase I clinical trial of ACLF; approved as a postdoctoral research workstation; obtained CNAS laboratory accreditation; recognized as a provincial specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative small and medium-sized enterprise; completed B+ round financing. 2024: Completed phase I clinical trial of ARDS; initiated phase II clinical trials for ACLF and chronic ischemic stroke; obtained IND approval for chronic ischemic stroke; recognized as a high-tech enterprise; led the key national R&D program 'Stem Cell Research and Organ Repair' which was approved for funding. 2025: Obtained approval for pioneering stem cell clinical application in Nansha (first in Guangdong); completed phase II clinical trial of ACLF (first); won the first prize in the 14th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangdong Division); selected as one of KPMG China's third BioTech Innovation Leader 50 enterprises. 2026: Obtained IND approvals for senile sarcopenia and postmenopausal osteoporosis; completed Pre-C round financing.
