China Credit Trust Registration Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Credit Registration") is a non-bank financial institution established with the approval of the State Council and the former China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), currently under the supervision and administration of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC), providing basic services for China's trust industry. It was announced to be established in Shanghai on December 26, 2016. The company is controlled by Central Government Securities Depository Trust and Clearing Co., Ltd. and was jointly initiated by 22 shareholders, including the China Trust Industry Association, China Trust Protection Fund Co., Ltd., 18 major trust companies in the industry, and Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Development Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of RMB 3 billion.
According to the relevant provisions of the "Supervision and Administration Measures for China Credit Trust Registration Co., Ltd." issued by the former CBRC, the functional positioning of China Credit Registration is three major platforms: namely, a registration and information statistics platform for trust products and trust beneficial rights in the trust industry, a platform for trust product issuance and trading, and a regulatory information service platform for the trust industry, while faithfully performing other relevant functions assigned by regulatory authorities.
On September 1, 2017, the trust registration system of China Credit Registration was launched on the same day the "Trust Registration Administration Measures" issued by the CBRC took effect, starting to provide comprehensive trust registration services. With the cooperation and support of the entire industry, by the end of August 2018, full-scale centralized registration of trust products had been completed, and an industry-wide trust product registration database was initially established, laying a solid foundation of registration data for helping the trust industry return to its roots and achieve transformation.
Since 2019, in accordance with the overall work deployment of the CBIRC, and following the development direction of "consolidating the foundation through product registration and expanding services through trading and circulation," China Credit Registration has been continuously promoting and improving six major work areas, including optimizing and enhancing trust product registration services, building a trust beneficial rights account system, constructing a comprehensive information service platform, constructing a trust issuance and trading platform, constructing an industry-wide data center, and actively researching and exploring property registration. The company aims to deepen and improve its various functions, further promote information technology development, and better serve regulation, the industry, and social economy.
