皖江新兴产业技术发展中心（简称“皖江中心”）由中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院、铜陵市人民政府、安徽省科学技术厅三方共建，依托中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院建设，为其下属非法人研究单元，同时在铜陵市注册地方事业法人，实行二位一体的运作模式。皖江中心坚持需求牵引、创新驱动的发展宗旨，积极推动具有市场潜力的科研成果工程化研发和产业化推广，目标是建设成为新兴产业技术领域重要的技术开发、集成、成果转化和产业化发展的综合应用平台。
