Shenzhen Institute of Mechanical Engineering Architectural Design Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 through a split-off restructuring from its predecessor, the Shenzhen Design and Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry. Its Shenzhen headquarters office is located at Lihu Building, No. 8 Tongde Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, and it is mainly engaged in construction engineering consulting and design-related business.
At the beginning of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in 1980, the former *Ministry of Machinery Industry, in order to support the construction of the special zone, assisted the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government in establishing the Municipal Survey and Design Joint Company, completed China's *batch of high-rise building designs, and brought the construction of the special zone onto a track of scientific development. Afterwards, following institutional changes in the ministries and commissions, the company changed its name many times and was once a deputy department-level public institution directly under a ministry. After the original ministry was abolished, through integration and reorganization of state-owned enterprises, it is now 51% controlled by China Qiyuan Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., with the remainder held by key employees.
For more than 40 years, the company has grown and developed together with the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. It holds Grade A qualification for architectural engineering in the construction industry and has deeply cultivated the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market. It is a national high-tech enterprise, a council member unit of the Shenzhen Survey and Design Industry Association, a national construction industry integrity unit, a gold award unit for the first and third Shenzhen construction engineering construction drawing preparation quality awards, an advanced grassroots party organization of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Party and Government Organs Work Committee, a council member unit (first session) of the Shenzhen Building Information Modeling Industry Development Innovation Promotion Association, a pilot enterprise for whole-process engineering consulting in Shenzhen (first batch), an "Advanced Unit for the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone" selected by the Shenzhen Civil Engineering and Architectural Society, a "Participating Unit in 30 Characteristic Construction Projects in 30 Years of Shenzhen" selected by the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau and Shenzhen Press Group, a pilot enterprise for engineering construction standardization of the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau, and an excellent member unit of the Shenzhen Green Building Association. Since its establishment, the company has completed more than 2,000 engineering design projects and won more than 200 national, provincial, ministerial, and municipal excellent design awards. Among them, it has undertaken a large number of engineering construction design projects in Shenzhen for medical care, education, cultural and sports venues, policy housing, etc., making positive contributions to improving people's livelihood in Shenzhen.
