The Design and Research Institute of Yangtze University was founded in 1980 with a registered capital of 5 million yuan. It was originally named the Design and Research Institute of Jianghan Petroleum Institute. In 2003, Yangtze University was formed by the merger of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute, Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Normal College, and Hubei Medical College for Health Workers. In the same year, the Design and Research Institute of Jianghan Petroleum Institute was renamed the Design and Research Institute of Yangtze University. Scope of Practice: The Design and Research Institute of Yangtze University currently holds a national Grade A qualification in the construction industry (architectural engineering), a Grade B qualification in engineering survey and design, and a Grade C qualification in urban and rural planning. It engages in various civil and industrial architectural design, decorative engineering design, geotechnical engineering survey (design, consulting, supervision), urban planning, engineering testing and reinforcement, architectural science and technology research, promotion and application of new building materials (new technologies), as well as construction project supervision and engineering consulting.
