Neptunus (Haiwang Xingchen), a name born with the rise of China's pharmaceutical retail industry in the 1990s. Starting from * community retail pharmacies in 1996, Neptunus grew from nothing, from scattered sparkles to a star-studded network, achieving a transformation from 1 to 2,000 health chain pharmacies.

Shenzhen, China's * dynamic city, is the birthplace of Neptunus. In the mid-1990s, the concept of "chain" was introduced into China's commercial retail sector. On June 28, 1995, Shenzhen Neptunus Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was established, targeting the blank Chinese pharmaceutical chain retail sector.

Neptunus chain pharmacies have become the leading pharmacy chain in mainland China, located in nearly 70 cities nationwide. From 2006 to 2012, Neptunus ranked * nationwide in the number of directly operated stores for seven consecutive years.

In 2000, Neptunus began cross-provincial operations, gradually gaining leadership in key cities in Guangdong Province, the Yangtze River Delta, the Bohai Rim region, and the Southwest region. At present, Neptunus has achieved an absolutely leading market share in cities such as Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Dalian, and Weifang. In 2007, China Neptunus Chain Pharmacy was successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange, becoming the first overseas-listed company in China's chain pharmacy industry, raising more than 380 million USD, the highest amount raised by a Chinese pharmaceutical industry listed company that year.

In 2015, Neptunus achieved a tax-inclusive turnover of approximately RMB 3.74 billion. It provided employment for more than 13,000 employees, including nearly 3,800 pharmacists.

Neptunus pharmacies average 100 square meters in area, are community-based, and mainly serve urban community household populations. Currently, approximately 61.4% of Neptunus's 2,000 pharmacies nationwide are designated medical insurance pharmacies.
