Brief History of Leshi Tongren
In the 8th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1669 AD), the fourth generation of the Le family, Le Xianyang, with the assistance of Emperor Kangxi, founded Tongrentang Le Family Old Shop, which has been inherited for 339 years. Since the first year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty, court medicines were all handled by Tongrentang, which is known as "Imperial Medicine Tribute" for 188 years.
In the 42nd year of the Republic of China, the 13th generation of the Le family established "Taiwan Tongrentang" on Kaifeng Street in Taipei. Affected by the Cultural Revolution, the 13th generation heir of the Le family retreated to Taiwan, and Tongrentang Le Family Old Shop was nationalized and renamed "Beijing Tongrentang", so the true Le family heritage remains only in Taiwan Tongrentang.
The reason why Tongrentang can become the top brand in the traditional Chinese medicine industry lies in its "unique prescriptions, superior raw materials, and exquisite craftsmanship." Today, the authentic 14th generation inherits the ancestral motto, and with the slogan "Yesterday's Imperial Medicine Tribute, Today's Health Sharing," shares with the people the 300-year-old golden signboard of "Cultivating virtue together, benefiting life through health."
