The hotel opened on June 12, 1998, and was officially rated as a four-star tourist foreign-related business hotel by the National Tourism Administration in April 2000. It was the first national international four-star hotel after Chongqing became a municipality directly under the Central Government. The hotel owner is financially strong and affiliated with Southwest Industrial Company, a subsidiary of China Ordnance Equipment Group Corporation, a large central enterprise. China Ordnance Equipment Group ranked 238th in the Fortune Global 500 and 27th among China's Top 500 Enterprises, with an output value of 306.1 billion yuan in 2012. Southwest Industrial Company has an annual output value of 8 billion yuan and ranks 8th among Chongqing's Top 100 Service Enterprises.
The hotel has a total construction area of 49,000 square meters and more than 280 rooms of various types. It is fully equipped with Chinese restaurants, Western restaurants, Japanese cuisine restaurants, bars, executive lounges, saunas, KTVs and other supporting facilities. Among them, the International Banquet Center can accommodate 600 people for dining at the same time, which is unique among high-star hotels in Chongqing.
The hotel is located in the center of Daping, Yuzhong District, and is a landmark building in Daping. Wanyou Parkson Shopping Plaza, Longhu Times Tianjie Shopping Plaza, Yingli International 5A office building and others provide rich supporting facilities for the hotel. Metro Line 1 and Light Rail Line 2 converge here, and their exits are located right next to the hotel, making transportation very convenient.
