CABR Shenzhen Branch

The China Academy of Building Research was founded in 1953 and was originally affiliated with the Ministry of Construction. In October 2000, it was restructured from a scientific research institution into a technology-based enterprise and is now affiliated with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
As one of the largest comprehensive research and development institutions in the national construction industry, the China Academy of Building Research mainly serves the national construction cause, takes architectural engineering as its main research object, focuses on applied research and technology development, and is committed to solving key technical problems in China's engineering construction; it carries out common, basic, and public-interest technical research required by the industry; it is responsible for compiling and managing China's main standards and specifications for engineering construction and products; and it undertakes quality supervision, inspection, and testing tasks for national construction engineering, air-conditioning equipment, solar water heaters, elevators, and chemical building materials. The academy has 14 research institutes, divisions, and centers, and its scientific research covers 70 research fields across specialties such as building structures, foundations, engineering seismic resistance, building environment and energy efficiency, housing systems and products, intelligent buildings, building software, building mechanization, building fire protection, construction technology, and building materials, with 77 laboratories. In recent years, it has further strengthened research and development in complete green building technologies, new energy technologies, disaster prevention and mitigation technologies, and intelligent integration technologies.
After being restructured into a technology-based enterprise, the China Academy of Building Research has oriented itself toward the market and established 11 wholly owned or controlling second-level companies, forming a diversified development pattern integrating scientific research and development, scientific and technological services, comprehensive design, planning, survey, construction engineering quality and product testing, high-tech and product research, development, and production, and engineering contracting.
Since its establishment, the China Academy of Building Research has consistently contributed to promoting scientific and technological progress in China's construction cause, advancing the standardization of China's engineering construction, and strengthening engineering quality management.
The Shenzhen Branch of the China Academy of Building Research is a permanent institution dispatched by the China Academy of Building Research in Shenzhen. It was approved for establishment in early 1992 by the Ministry of Construction and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. The branches in Shenzhen of the second-level units under the head institute are coordinated and managed by the Shenzhen Branch.
Main business scope of the Shenzhen Branch:
Engineering design field: carrying out design for various civil and industrial construction projects; planning and design of residential areas and development zones; specialized design for foundation engineering, special prestressed engineering, steel structure engineering, and structural strengthening engineering; and various special building research and consulting.
Engineering testing field: carrying out quality supervision and inspection of construction engineering, building products, and related engineering materials; compiling standards and regulations for related engineering and building products; researching and developing new inspection technologies, methods, and equipment; and providing technical guidance, training, and consulting for construction engineering testing personnel.
Scientific research and environmental energy field: participating in the compilation of national and local standards and specifications for major engineering construction; carrying out special research and development planning in national and local building science and technology fields; and carrying out various technical research and applications in the fields of building environment and energy efficiency.
Engineering construction field: mainly carrying out construction contracting business for housing construction engineering, prestressed engineering, foundation engineering, steel structure engineering, mechanical and electrical equipment installation engineering, building decoration and renovation engineering, building intelligentization engineering, building curtain wall engineering, building waterproofing engineering, and special professional engineering (limited to structural strengthening).
Software research and development field: conducting software research, development, and sales for the construction industry. It has successively undertaken national Seventh Five-Year, Eighth Five-Year, Ninth Five-Year, Tenth Five-Year, and 863 projects, and has now developed into the largest software development entity with the highest penetration rate in the domestic construction industry, and all software has obtained authoritative appraisal.
