Guoqi (Beijing) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Research Institute Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "CICV") was co-founded by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and the China Industry Innovation Alliance for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles. It was established on March 19, 2018, with its registered address in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and a registered capital of 1.1 billion RMB. The 23 shareholder entities are all enterprises and research institutions in the fields of complete vehicles, parts and components, and information and communication.\n\nTo promote the development of China's intelligent connected vehicle industry and technology, the China Society of Automotive Engineers and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), established the "China Industry Innovation Alliance for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles" in 2017. With MIIT as the guiding unit, Minister Miao Wei and Vice Minister Xin Guobin serve as the director and deputy director of the Alliance's Steering Committee, respectively. Currently, the Alliance comprises 64 council member units from the automotive, information and communication, and transportation sectors, and nearly 400 ordinary member units, making it an important platform for promoting the development of China's intelligent connected vehicle industry.\n\nIn May 2019, "CICV + Alliance" was officially approved to establish the National Innovation Center for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles.\n\nGathering high-end domestic and international professional talents and industrial innovation resources, the center focuses on key common technologies in the intelligent connected vehicle field, undertaking basic technology research, technology transfer and diffusion, initial commercial application, and innovative public services. Its main goals are to cultivate a number of internationally competitive enterprises in the intelligent connected vehicle field, continuously and efficiently guide and support industry development, and enhance China's position in the global value chain for intelligent connected vehicles and related industries.
