Xi'an Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as Xi'an Construction Engineering Administration Bureau (also called the Bureau of Construction Engineering) established in 1953, was renamed the Enterprise Administration Bureau in November 1978. In September 1983, to adapt to the needs of economic system reform, it was approved by the municipal party committee to be changed to Xi'an Construction Engineering Corporation.

The company holds dual special-grade qualifications for general contracting of building construction and municipal engineering construction, dual class-A qualifications for engineering design in the construction and municipal industries, as well as 7 first-grade qualifications, 4 second-grade qualifications, and special equipment public utility pipeline installation (GB1, GB2) and industrial pipeline installation (GC2) qualifications.
