China United Northwest Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. was founded in July 1964, formerly known as the Eleventh Design and Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry. It undertook the historical重任 of capital construction and technological transformation for over 80% of the backbone enterprises in China's instrumentation industry, and now is affiliated with China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), a super-large central enterprise.
The company holds 54 various qualifications, including 17 Class A qualifications in architecture (building engineering), machinery, municipal engineering, electronic and broadcasting communication (electronic engineering), urban and rural planning, environmental engineering, landscape architecture, consulting credit, engineering supervision, light textile, etc., and 6 general construction contracting qualifications. Its business scope covers engineering consulting, engineering cost, engineering design, engineering investigation, urban and rural planning, bidding agency, engineering supervision, engineering general contracting, equipment contracting, construction drawing review, fire protection evaluation and testing, energy-saving evaluation and review, green building verification, and whole-process consulting, totaling 14 categories, achieving horizontal integration of business chains including consultation, design, investigation, cost, bidding, construction, and supervision. It was among the first batch of enterprises selected as "dual pilot" enterprises for engineering general contracting and whole-process consulting in Shaanxi Province.
The company has a team of over 1,200 employees with a balanced mix of senior, middle-aged, and young professionals, including 4 key scientific and technological innovation teams in Shaanxi Province, more than 500 national registered professionals of various types, and over 200 provincial and ministerial-level experts. It masters 16 distinctive or proprietary technologies, has contributed over 16,000 excellent projects both domestically and internationally, and has won more than 490 national and provincial/ministerial awards for scientific research achievements. It has initiated over 50 Shaanxi Provincial science and technology plan projects, obtained more than 200 authorized national patents, and led or participated in the compilation of over 50 national, provincial, and municipal standards and specifications.
The institute has established a national post-doctoral research workstation, the Xi'an Base of Sino-Russian Youth Entrepreneurship Incubator, the Shaanxi Provincial Post-doctoral Innovation Base, the Shaanxi Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Energy Environment and Building Energy Efficiency, and the Shaanxi Provincial Graduate Joint Training Demonstration Workstation. It has jointly built graduate practice bases with Chongqing University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Chang'an University, and North China Electric Power University. It has established the Institute of Engineering Sciences and constructed a "1+N" scientific research system; implemented the business model of "strategy, production, investment, construction, and operation", forming a business development model with "consultation and design" as the core, and "engineering general contracting" and "whole-process consulting" as the two wings.
Currently, it has 10 business divisions, including urban renewal, low-carbon green building, medical and health care, rural revitalization, municipal public utilities, industrial equipment, energy and environment, whole-process consulting, digital technology, and Xinjiang region. It has set up branch companies in Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Shandong, Shanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Chongqing, Sichuan, and Yunnan, capable of providing domestic and international clients with comprehensive, full-lifecycle technical support and value-added services for engineering construction. It has been honored with titles such as National Contract-honoring and Credit-assuring Enterprise, National Credit Rating AAA Enterprise, National Excellent Survey and Design Enterprise, High-tech Enterprise, National Workers' Pioneer, Shaanxi Provincial Advanced Grassroots Party Organization, Shaanxi Provincial May Day Labor Award, and Xi'an Advanced Collective.
