Spotlight Automotive Co., Ltd. is located in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. Spotlight Automotive is a new joint venture established by Great Wall Motor and BMW Group, with a total investment of RMB 5.1 billion and an annual standard production capacity of 160,000 vehicles. The company employs approximately 3,000 people. In July 2018, witnessed by the premiers of China and Germany, both parties formally signed the joint venture contract, agreeing to establish Spotlight Automotive in a 50:50 joint venture format. The name "Spotlight Automotive" symbolizes brightness, glory, cleanliness, energy, and speed, representing the company's vision to create a new pattern in the new energy vehicle industry. At the end of 2019, the company was officially registered and established. Spotlight Automotive integrates R&D, production, warehousing, and logistics, with products sold to the global market. Joint product development is the focus of this project. Based on Great Wall Motor's R&D capabilities and resources, and leveraging BMW Group's technical experience and operational practices in the global market, Spotlight Automotive achieves a new business model of "joint R&D, manufactured in China, serving global customers." The products of Spotlight Automotive adopt the latest technologies, with vehicle functions, quality, configuration, and performance meeting regulatory standards and customer needs in global markets. With "safety and intelligence" as the core, it provides young users with fashionable, convenient, and environmentally friendly mobility experiences. The Spotlight Automotive plant features five major workshops: stamping, welding, painting, final assembly, and PACK, as well as technical building R&D spaces and test tracks. The plant adheres to the concepts of "intensive land use, smart manufacturing, energy conservation, and environmental protection," with a focus on "building global quality," and advances in sync across product, process, and plant construction. Through the application of new technologies and scientific layout planning, each process fully integrates the advanced production concepts of Great Wall Motor and BMW Group, applying internationally cutting-edge production technologies and quality management systems. The plant possesses the capability to meet global regulatory and market requirements.
