Founded in 1998, Furen Pharmaceutical Group is a comprehensive group company led by pharmaceuticals and liquor, integrating research and development, production, operation, investment, and management.

The products cover multiple categories including Chinese and Western medicine preparations, biopharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and health foods. In 2006, with the successful listing of Henan Furen Tang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the power of capital not only propelled Furen into a period of rapid development but also gradually improved its industry position. On December 29, 2017, Furen Pharmaceutical's major asset restructuring succeeded, placing the group's high-quality assets—Kaifeng Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd.—into Furen Pharmaceutical, bringing Furen Pharmaceutical into a new stage of development.
The early development strategy of "variety as the core, mergers and acquisitions as the main line" ultimately enabled Furen Pharmaceutical Group's production capacity and product lines to develop rapidly in a short period. To date, Furen Pharmaceutical Group has more than 20 dosage forms including water injections, freeze-dried powder injections, and oral solid preparations, with over 1,000 varieties; its comprehensive production capacity of preparations ranks among the top in the national pharmaceutical industry. In the 2017 new medical insurance catalog, Furen Pharmaceutical Group selected a total of 578 varieties, an increase of 165 varieties compared to the 2009 catalog, with a growth rate of 39.95%, of which 364 were in Category A (an increase of 42.754%) and 214 in Category B (an increase of 35.44%), making it one of the pharmaceutical companies with the most selected varieties nationwide. The "Furen" trademark has been recognized as a China Well-known Trademark.

During corporate mergers and acquisitions, Furen Pharmaceutical Group has invested heavily in strengthening innovation platform construction, strategically laying out four R&D innovation platforms: the Zhengzhou technology R&D and international cooperation and industrialization service platform, the Beijing innovation R&D platform, the Shanghai pharmaceutical R&D innovation international cooperation platform, and the R&D platforms in New Jersey and Philadelphia, USA, as well as a traditional Chinese medicine big data and AI TCM R&D platform. It will also make efforts in small molecule chemical drugs, large molecule biopharmaceutical R&D, and TCM inheritance and innovation, opening a new development path driven by R&D innovation.
Currently, Furen Pharmaceutical Group supports an innovation R&D area of 113,000 square meters, with an R&D innovation team of nearly 1,500 people.
