自贡市第三人民医院始建于1950年，是一所集医、教、研、防为一体，设备先进，功能齐全，专科特色突出的园林式国家“三级乙等”综合性医院，*“爱婴医院”和四川省高等医学院校临床教学基地，医院有在岗职工728人，其中硕士研究生26名，拥有奔马2000型核磁共振等一批高精尖设备，有四川省卫生厅和自贡市卫生局批准的市级重点专科：“自贡市肾病中心”、“自贡市骨科治疗中心”、“自贡市消化疾病防治中心”和“儿科”。在川南地区首家成功开展了直穿法血液透析、消化道息肉高频电切术等诊疗新技术；在自贡市率先成功的开展了肾移植手术等诊疗项目。医院曾先后荣获自贡市*佳文明单位自贡市委“‘四好’领导班子”、连续六年蝉联自贡市卫生局目标任务考评一等奖。
