华能沁北发电有限责任公司(简称“华能沁北电厂”)位于河南省济源市境内，北依太行，南临沁河，距省会郑州市约140公里，交通便利，地理位置优越。电厂处于华中、华北和西北三大电网的交汇处，是河南省 “两点一线”电源布局的重要支撑点。华能沁北电厂于2001年12月26日正式成立，由华能国际电力股份有限公司、河南省投资集团有限公司、济源市建设投资公司按照60%、35%、5%的比例共同出资建设。
电厂规划装机容量640万千瓦，目前运行容量440万千瓦，包括四台60万千瓦国产超临界机组和两台100万千瓦国产超超临界机组，四期工程扩建2×1000MW超超临界燃煤发电机组，前期工作已全面展开。沁北电厂现有在职员工680人，是华中电网、也是华能集团容量*大的火电厂。
