Optics Valley Center City Construction

To accelerate the construction of Optics Valley Center City, in August 2014, the Management Committee decided to register and establish the park company -- Wuhan Optics Valley Center City Construction Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Center City Investment). As the platform for the development, construction, operation and management of government investment and financing projects within the Optics Valley Center City park, the company is fully responsible for the investment and financing of government-invested projects within the scope of Optics Valley Center City.
Optics Valley Center City is bounded by Jiufeng Mountain Range in the north, Gaoxin 5th Road in the south, the Third Ring Road in the west, and Optics Valley 7th Road in the east, with a total land area of 36.15 square kilometers. The "Optics Valley Center City Overall Urban Design" was compiled by the internationally renowned design company -- SOM of the United States. The design introduces the concept of "small blocks, high-density road network" from Chicago, USA, and plans to use three metro lines (Line 11, Line 9, Line 19) with two horizontal and one vertical, as well as three tram lines, to create comprehensive functional nodes with convenient transportation, commercial centers, and compact residential communities. In the planning, the original natural ecological resources and environment within the park have been well protected, among which green and ecological conservation land accounts for 44% of the total land area, providing a good environmental advantage for the development of Optics Valley Center City.
Optics Valley Center City is located in the central part of East Lake National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, adjacent to Jiufeng Forest Park in the north, the Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the south, Optics Valley Biolake in the west, and Future Science and Technology City in the east, with a planned total area of 36.15 square kilometers. The East Lake Demonstration Zone will form a planning structure of "one axis and six centers", among which Optics Valley Center City will serve as the comprehensive service area assuming the function of the main center, Luxiang as the sub-center, and at the same time, four supporting centers will be built in Huashan, Zuoling, Liufang and Niushan Lake. According to the implementation plan of the "1+6" spatial development strategy, as an important node of the Wuhan-Huangshi urban belt, Optics Valley Center City will become the center of the Southeast New City among these six new cities.
Optics Valley Center City is a modern city with high-quality living and working environment featuring fashion, business, vitality, comfort and ecology; it is the high-tech business center of Optics Valley of China, aiming to build an international business district that serves central China, radiates across the country, and faces the world; it builds a headquarters control center and back-office service center that promotes the deepening of strategic emerging industries in central China; and it establishes a demonstration platform that promotes the integration of financial innovation, modern service industry and high-tech industry in Wuhan.
Optics Valley Center City plays an important leading role in future urban functional support, economic growth transformation and upgrading, and driving the development of surrounding parks.
