Nokia Hangzhou R&D Center: The Hangzhou R&D site is part of Nokia's global R&D network. This site provides multiple software for Nokia 3G products, including Node B, RNC, platform SW, as well as WiMax. Started in 2002, we have developed into a comprehensive R&D function portfolio including system design, software design and implementation, functional testing, system testing, and technical support. As a long-term plan, we aim for the R&D unit to have 500 people and provide state-of-the-art R&D products and excellent service to Nokia's global customers. Nokia WiMAX Product Development: The Hangzhou team is focusing on the development of WiMAX-related network elements from the architecture phase to system testing, with the aim of delivering a mobile WiMAX end-to-end solution. Nokia WCDMA Node-B: The Hangzhou teams will be part of the global Node B R&D organization and will focus first on implementing, testing, and integrating Node B. Later, there will also be architectural and system specification responsibilities. Nokia WCDMA RNC: The Hangzhou team is responsible for software (SW) development, integration, and verification (I&V) of Nokia RNC operation and maintenance (O&M) functionality. Nokia Platform SW: The Hangzhou R&D team is responsible for IPA2800 platform software development and testing. We also provide maintenance of the platform and related products. The Hangzhou teams' development focuses on operating systems and services, telecom and datacom protocols, and high-availability features.
