江苏煤炭地质局始建于1952年5月，现为国务院国资委管理、隶属于中国煤炭地质总局的中央京外地质单位，经过60多年艰苦奋斗，江苏煤炭地质局已发展成为集能源资源勘查、地下工程、地理信息、生态环境与农业地质、矿业开发与矿产品加工、现代制造与服务业六大主业板块于一体的综合性企业集团。局（集团公司）下属单位分布在无锡、常州、镇江、南京、徐州等城市。现有职工总数6000余人，拥有各类资质86项。
