Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. was established in January 1987. It is a joint venture composed of Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Industry Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan, and two other parties. The investment ratio is 60% Chinese and 40% foreign. The total investment is USD 200 million, covering an area of 392,300 m2. In 2020, 100,000 elevators were sold, with operating revenue of RMB 22 billion. Since the joint venture was established, over 1 million elevators have been manufactured and sold cumulatively, and 26,000 elevators have been exported cumulatively, reaching more than 70 countries and regions. The headquarters currently has about 2,000 employees, and the branches have more than 10,000 employees. The company has received honors such as the 'China Quality Award Nomination Award,' the 'National Quality Award,' the 'Shanghai Quality Gold Award,' and the 'Shanghai Mayor Quality Award (Individual Award, Enterprise Award).' The Mitsubishi elevators installed in 'Shanghai Tower' hold three Guinness World Records for 'the world's fastest elevator, the elevator with the greatest lifting height, and the fastest double-deck elevator.' Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator received the industry's highest selection rate in the selection of top suppliers (elevator category) for China's top 500 real estate development enterprises, ranking first for the 10th consecutive year. In recent years, based on dynamically introducing Mitsubishi Electric's ELENESSA latest machine-room-less and NEXWAY small machine-room elevator technologies with energy feedback and environmental protection, as well as 10M/S ultra-high-speed elevators, it is currently localizing the ultra-high-speed double-deck elevator product technology of Mitsubishi Electric Japan. The company independently developed and launched the intelligent escalator product Smart K-II and the escalator intelligent monitoring system SmartEye.
