BASF Engineering Plastics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (BAEP) is a wholly-owned investment of BASF. Located in the Shanghai Xinzhuang Industrial Park, the company covers an area of 21,342 m2 and has 123 employees. BAPE was founded in 1994 with a total investment of USD 13.5 million, formerly known as Solvay (Shanghai) Engineering Plastics Co., Ltd. As BASF completed the acquisition of Solvay's global polyamide business in February 2020, in July of the same year, the site was officially renamed as BASF Engineering Plastics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. It is now mainly engaged in the research, development, production and sales of high-performance polyamide materials.

BASF operates 5 production lines in the site with an annual capacity of 54,000 tons. Its products are widely applied to the markets for automotive, E&E and industrial consumer products. Certified as High-Tech Enterprise in Shanghai, the company has also passed the ISO/TS16949 certification in 2006 and the ISO 14001 certification in 2012.

巴斯夫工程塑料（上海）有限公司（简称BAEP）为巴斯夫集团下的全资子公司，坐落于上海莘庄工业开发区，占地21,342平方米，拥有员工123名。公司成立于1994 年，总投资1,350万美元，前身为索尔维（上海）工程塑料有限公司。2020年2月，巴斯夫完成对索尔维聚酰胺全球业务的收购，同年7月公司正式更名为巴斯夫工程塑料（上海）有限公司，主要从事高性能聚酰胺材料的研发、生产与销售。
目前，基地共运营5条生产线，年产能为5.4万吨，产品主要应用于汽车、电子电器及工业消费品市场。已于2006年完成了ISO／TS16949技术认证，2012年通过了ISO 14001环境管理体系的认证，是上海高新技术企业。
