Wuhan Zhongyuan Electronics Group Co., Ltd. (State-owned Factory No. 710) was founded in August 1949, mainly engaged in the research, development and production of high-frequency and very high-frequency tactical communication equipment, wireless digital network communication systems, trunking communication systems, cellular mobile communication equipment, optical communication equipment, remote control and telemetry systems, and automatic satellite navigation and other electronic information application equipment. It has the production qualification for Beidou-1 and the R&D qualification for Beidou-2. In 1998, it was restructured into Wuhan Zhongyuan Electronics Group Co., Ltd. (State-owned Factory No. 710) in accordance with the modern enterprise system, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation, a large state-owned central enterprise and a Fortune Global 500 company. In 1996, it passed the ISO9000 (GJB/Z-9001) quality system certification, in 1998 passed the ISO1002.1 (GB/T19022.1) measurement system certification, and in 2010 was recognized by the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology as one of the first innovative enterprises in Hubei Province. It enjoys the right of self-operated import and export, and in 2010 was approved to establish a postdoctoral workstation.
The group company currently has more than 3,000 employees, of whom 40% have a university degree or above, 45% are professional and technical personnel, and more than 30 are national, provincial, and ministerial experts. The elite R&D team continuously launches new products and has formed its own unique and effective scientific research system.
In order to vigorously develop the company's civilian product business, the group company established the Applied Electronics R&D Center in October 2009, which is a research institution engaged in the research and development and transformation of technological achievements in automotive electronics, military-civilian integration, and Beidou navigation products. The center is located in Guandong Science and Technology Park, Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone. With the further integration of the group company's civilian product business, in June 2015, with the approval of the group board of directors, Zhongyuan Kechuang Electronics Branch was established based on the main body of the original center.

The company closely focuses on the three major fields of automotive electronics, military-civilian integration, and Beidou navigation to carry out product incubation and sales through independent research and development, cooperation, and introduction and re-innovation models. Many products such as centralized charging and power distribution management equipment, charging and control equipment, plug-in charging and centralized control equipment, power battery management systems, and vehicle-mounted information terminals have successfully penetrated the fields of smart grid and electric vehicles. Products such as ship AIS intelligent navigation terminals, beacon remote control and telemetry systems, radar/AIS search and rescue transponders, and vessel traffic management systems (VTS) have successfully penetrated the fields of civil ship communication and navigation, digital waterways, water search and rescue, and ship-shore informatization, and are partners of institutions such as the China Maritime Safety Administration and the Yangtze River Waterway Bureau for terminal and system construction.
The company currently has 121 employees, including 2 Ph.D.s, 66 master's degree holders, and 48 bachelor's degree holders, with an average age of 32, making it a team full of vigor and vitality. The company also has a postdoctoral research workstation and a provincial-level engineering technology center.
The company has also undertaken multiple national science and technology support program projects and is also an engineering technology center recognized by the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology. At present, it is implementing a total of more than 9 fund projects, including the central alliance "Battery Management System" common technology project, the central alliance "Platform Vehicle Power Battery System" project battery assembly and battery management project, the 863 major special project "Research on Perception and Interactive Processing Technology of Inland Water Traffic Status under Ship-Beacon-Shore Collaboration" project, the Science and Technology Industry Bureau technology promotion project, and the East Lake Development Zone modern service industry project, etc.
