Wuhan Engineering Consulting Department Co., Ltd. is one of the comprehensive engineering consulting institutions established first in China (approved by Wuhan Municipal People's Government and established in July 1986) to meet the requirements of Wuhan's reform and opening-up and modernized economic construction and development, mainly providing consulting services for investment decisions and implementation of construction projects of governments at all levels and enterprises. It is among the first batch of units in China to obtain the Grade A comprehensive engineering consulting qualification certificate issued by the State Planning Commission (now the National Development and Reform Commission), a member of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), a council member of the China National Association of Engineering Consultants, vice president of the Hubei Provincial Association of Engineering Consultants, and president of the Wuhan Investment and Engineering Consulting Association. It is the only engineering consulting unit in Wuhan with Grade A comprehensive credit standing of the China National Association of Engineering Consultants. In September 2020, approved by the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Wuhan Engineering Consulting Department was incorporated into Wuhan Urban Construction Group. In December of the same year, with the support of the Urban Construction Group, Wuhan Engineering Consulting Department completed its corporatization reform and, together with the former Hongcheng Supervision Company of Wuhan Real Estate Group, Sanchu Supervision Company of Wuhan Yuanfa Group, Central Testing Company and Energy-saving Testing Company of Wuhan Construction Engineering Group, jointly established Wuhan Engineering Consulting Department Co., Ltd., with seven major business divisions (specialized studios), one future development research center and nine member companies. In recent years, centering on the national development strategic layout, the Engineering Consulting Department has always adhered to the corporate mission of "serving investment and construction, shouldering social responsibilities", undertaken consulting work for major provincial and municipal projects, and provided important technical and intellectual support for the government and enterprises to improve the scientific level of investment decisions, enhance project quality, give play to investment benefits, and even optimize major layouts and promote sustainable economic and social development. The company focuses on fields such as new-generation information technology, military-civilian integration, river basin governance, new energy, finance, urban-rural integration, social undertakings, and cultural tourism, covering businesses such as planning consulting, project consulting, evaluation consulting, special consulting and whole-process consulting.
