合资项目是浦项在中国单笔投资额巨大的生产制造项目，也是近年来河北省和中国钢铁行业单体投资巨大的外商合资项目。逆全球化浪潮下，引进浦项的大额外资投入，有利于提高中国钢铁工业的高质量发展水平，提升地方经济的产业结构和发展活力。合资公司在河北乐亭经济开发区新建两条高质量的连续热镀锌线，设计产能90万吨/年；同时将广东浦项已有的45万吨/年的连续热镀锌线纳入合资范围。其中，在乐亭新建项目总投资34.25亿元，作为“河钢浦项汽车板（乐亭）项目”已完成备案。
合资公司总产能135万吨/年，主要产品为高档次汽车外板，兼顾高强钢，目标客户主要为丰田、本田、通用、福特、宝马等国际一线汽车厂，以及长城、吉利、长安、比亚迪等国内主流汽车厂。
