广西城市建设学校成立于1985年，是一所国家公办的建设类*重点中等职业学校、自治区示范性中等职业学校、广西优质中等职业学校、广西建筑工匠学院。学校坐落在风景秀丽的桂林市区，占地面积350多亩，其中新校区（310亩）在建设中。学校与广西建设职业技术学院等高职院校联办 2+3 形式高职大专。现有在校生4800余人，高等函授学员600余人。学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工200余人，其中具有国家注册建设执业资格的 双师型 教师65人。学校教学设施设备完善，办学质量优良，建设类专业齐全，是广西中等职业学校专业技能比赛训练和广西建设领域人才培养的重要基地，荣获广西依法治校示范学校、陶行知实验学校、自治区卫生优秀学校称号。
