Carlsberg was founded in 1847, with a history of over 170 years, headquartered in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Carlsberg's more than 140 brands are sold in over 150 markets globally. Carlsberg China is one of the top five beer companies in China. Carlsberg's connection with China spans nearly 150 years. In 1876, during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, Carlsberg beer was exported to China. In 1978, Carlsberg opened its brewery in Hong Kong, officially beginning its business operations in China. In 1995, in Huizhou, Guangdong, Carlsberg established a brewery in mainland China through a joint venture. In 2002, in response to the Chinese government's Western Development Strategy, Carlsberg accelerated its development in China, entering markets such as Yunnan, Xinjiang, and Ningxia, with Dali Beer, Wusu Beer, and Xixia Beer successively becoming members of the Carlsberg Group. By the end of 2013, after multiple equity acquisitions, Carlsberg's shareholding in the listed company Chongqing Brewery Co., Ltd. reached 60%, making it the controlling shareholder of Chongqing Brewery. In 2020, Carlsberg fulfilled its commitment by completing a major asset restructuring, injecting Carlsberg's beer assets in China into Chongqing Brewery. As a result, Chongqing Brewery became the platform for Carlsberg's beer operations in China, transforming from a regional brewery into a nationwide beer enterprise. Relying on Chongqing Brewery, Carlsberg China operates a supply chain network consisting of 25 breweries, with core markets including Chongqing, Sichuan, Hunan, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Yunnan, Guangdong, and various provinces in East China, covering the entire country, achieving a nationwide layout based on five major business units: the Chongqing Business Unit (including Sichuan and Hunan), the Xinjiang Business Unit, the Ningxia Business Unit, the Yunnan Business Unit, and the International Brands Business Unit. In China, Carlsberg has a powerful brand portfolio of "local strong brands + international premium brands." For international premium brands, there are Carlsberg, Tuborg, Kronenbourg 1664, Grimbergen, Brooklyn, and others; for local strong brands, there are Chongqing, Shancheng, Wusu, Xixia, Dali, Fenghuangxueyue, Tianmuhu, and others, meeting consumers' needs across different scenarios. Guided by the Carlsberg Group's Sail'22 strategy, in China, Carlsberg not only aims to become a successful, professional, and attractive beer company in the markets where it operates, but also strives to achieve the sustainable development goals of "Together Towards ZERO," namely "Zero Carbon Footprint," "Zero Water Waste," "Zero Irresponsible Drinking," and "Zero Accidents," thereby fulfilling the Carlsberg Group's purpose — brewing a better today and tomorrow.
