Chengdu Big Data Group was established in 2013, wholly owned by Chengdu Industrial Group, with its predecessor being Chengdu Informatization Construction and Development Co., Ltd. As a carrier for Chengdu to implement the national big data development strategy, it was renamed and established as Chengdu Big Data Co., Ltd. in 2017, and further renamed to Chengdu Big Data Group in 2021. The company is positioned as a "smart city investment, construction, operation and service provider," "Chengdu big data asset operator," and "Chengdu big data industry ecosystem service provider," mainly involved in three business directions: data operations, information technology services, and investment and mergers & acquisitions. In terms of open cooperation, the company uses capital means to guide national capital, technology, and data resources to flow into Chengdu. To date, it has completed the formation of 29 specialized companies through equity participation and holding, covering multiple fields such as smart city, high-performance computing, cross-border e-commerce, digital certification, fintech, software trading, real estate big data, audit big data, medical and health big data, and tax big data. In terms of major project construction and operation, the Big Data Group has delivered over 100 smart city construction projects, laying out the entire big data industry chain centered on the city brain. First, it accelerates the construction of new infrastructure, undertaking major municipal infrastructure projects such as Chengdu Supercomputing Center, Chengdu Government Cloud, and public area wireless access services in Chengdu. Second, it constructs and operates the Chengdu Network Governance Center, helping the government build a "city brain" that aggregates government, enterprise, and social data to form a city data resource pool. Third, it implements a series of new industry application models, continuously creating differentiation in various fields.
