Zhuying Group

Pearl River Film Group is one of the six major state-owned film groups in China and a comprehensive film enterprise with a long history, large scale, and strong strength in South China. Over the past 70 years, Zhuying has produced more than a thousand films and won over 300 domestic and international film awards, making it an important creator and participant in the glorious history of Chinese cinema, as well as a guardian and recorder who witnesses and celebrates the great era through light and shadow.

Since its establishment, Zhuying has produced a large number of popular and beloved works such as "Tide of the South China Sea," "Waves Washing the Sand," "The House of 72 Tenants," "Overseas Chinese," "Nostalgia," and "Yamaha Fish Stall," forming a unique Lingnan film school. In recent years, the group has focused on its core business of film creation and production, striving to create excellent works, releasing films such as "White Snake: Love," "Storm," and "Lady Qiao Guo," which have won domestic and international honors including the Huabiao Award and the Golden Rooster Award. It has also invested in major films such as "The Wandering Earth 2," "Home Coming," "East Pole Island," "The Blue Star Outside the Window," "Lost in the Stars," the "Creation of the Gods" series, the "Boonie Bears" series, the "Detective Chinatown" series, and the "Pegasus" series.

Zhuying Group currently has 8 functional departments, 12 wholly-owned first-level subsidiaries, and 1 holding first-level subsidiary, with over 570 employees. Its business covers the complete industrial chain of film and television creation, production, distribution, and projection, and extends to related industries.

In 2017, the provincial government awarded Zhuying the establishment of the Guangdong 4K Film Creation Center. To date, it has production capabilities for editing, visual effects, color grading, recording, mixing, and digital master production, and has participated in the production of over 100 films.

As of the end of December 2025, the China Film South New Film Line, led by Zhuying Group, oversees 1,275 cinemas and 7,797 screens, ranking third nationally in overall scale.

In terms of cultivating new business forms, Zhuying Group is advancing the construction of the immersive performance project at the No. 1 Shed of the park, introducing well-known domestic immersive stage productions such as "Time Agent" and "Wizard's Living Room." It has also established the "Youth Theater Tribe," successfully hosting the "Zhuque Cup" Youth Original Short Film Competition and the Zhuying Comedy Talk Show Competition. The Zhuying Orchestra's original musical "Broadcasting to the World" won the Outstanding Repertoire Award at the Second National Excellent Musical Exhibition and the Outstanding Works Award of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Spiritual Civilization "Five-One Project."

On the new journey of the new era, Zhuying Group will increase the creation of high-quality films, striving to produce excellent works that reflect the Guangdong practice of Chinese-style modernization and embody the contemporaneity, people-oriented spirit, and reality. It will focus on developing a film service APP and the Yingcheng Cultural Complex, building an online and offline film ecosystem. It will fully promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Film Port, accelerate the cultivation of new cultural business forms, create a Bay Area film ecosystem, activate new cultural economy and vitality, and strive to become the leading film and television enterprise in the Greater Bay Area.
