Zhangzhou Third Hospital

Zhangzhou Third Hospital is located on the east side of Zhangzhou People's Square. It is a tertiary comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. The hospital plans to set up 2,000 beds, with 1,050 beds currently open. In 2024, the outpatient volume was approximately over 600,000 visits, the number of discharged patients was about over 40,000, and surgical procedures were about over 20,000. The hospital has about 1,800 employees, with medical, nursing, and technical staff accounting for about 70%, including 117 with senior professional titles, 359 with intermediate titles, and 75 with master's degrees or above. It has 45 clinical and medical technology departments and 25 nursing units, covering a comprehensive range of specialties with distinctive features. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical instruments such as 1.5T and 3.0T MRI scanners, 128-slice spiral CT, dual-source CT, medical linear accelerators, two DSA systems, and ECMO. Its medical services cover more than 5 million people in the main urban area of Zhangzhou and surrounding counties, earning a good reputation and brand image among the public.
The hospital is currently a designated medical institution for Fujian Province's "120" traffic accident rescue, employee and urban-rural residents' medical insurance, work-related injury, marriage and childbirth, and cataract rehabilitation surgery. It is one of the first batch of painless childbirth pilot hospitals in the country. It has been rated as a civilized unit by the Zhangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government multiple times, and has established cooperative relationships with the affiliated hospital of Fujian Medical University and the Cardiovascular Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University. In recent years, the hospital has continuously improved its management capabilities, strengthened scientific research and teaching, and become a teaching hospital for Fujian Medical University and Xiamen Medical College. It undertakes tasks in the region including medical care, medical education, health education, disease prevention, maternal and child health care, emergency rescue and disaster relief, and military recruitment physical examinations.
