Anhui Provincial Highway and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Anhui Road and Bridge, Anhui Provincial Road and Bridge Company), formerly known as Anhui Provincial Highway and Bridge Engineering Company, is a relatively large enterprise in Anhui Province specializing in highway and bridge construction. In November 1985, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Department of Transportation, the company was officially established.
The company possesses multiple qualifications, including national first-class qualification for general contracting of highway engineering construction, first-class qualification for general contracting of municipal public works, second-class qualification for general contracting of port and waterway engineering, first-class qualification for professional contracting of bridge engineering, first-class qualification for professional contracting of subgrade engineering, first-class qualification for professional contracting of pavement engineering, second-class qualification for professional contracting of tunnel engineering, second-class qualification for professional contracting of ready-mixed commercial concrete, second-class qualification for professional contracting of prestressed engineering, qualification for traffic safety facilities sub-item of highway traffic engineering, first-class qualification for highway maintenance engineering construction, and second-class grade A qualification for highway maintenance engineering construction, as well as business qualification for foreign contracted projects. The company has passed certification of quality, environment, occupational health and safety management systems.
The company currently has under its jurisdiction the Road Engineering Branch, Municipal Engineering Branch, Jiangxi Branch, Bridge Engineering Branch, Equipment Leasing Company, and Building Materials Branch, and has set up the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Branches and a Material Supply Station, totaling five institutions. It owns three wholly-owned subsidiaries: Pavement, Huantong Testing and Inspection, and Xinlu Investment.
The company has a registered capital of 200.32 million yuan, with 100% state-owned equity. As of the end of 2011, total assets amounted to 1.919 billion yuan. It currently has over 1,200 employees, including more than 161 with intermediate or senior professional titles in engineering. Construction equipment is complete, with introduction of asphalt concrete mixing equipment, cement concrete mixing equipment, asphalt concrete paving equipment, and track-type cement concrete paving equipment from abroad, with an annual production capacity of over 4 billion yuan. The company possesses a highway testing and inspection institution with Class B qualification from the Ministry of Transport, and has complete testing instruments of various types.
The company has strong technical capability and can independently carry out construction and related scientific research activities for highways, bridges, tunnels, and docks of various grades and types. Construction footprints have spread across domestic provinces including Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, Henan, Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, and Jiangxi. It has participated in the construction of dozens of high-grade highways within the province such as He-Ning, He-Hang, Wu-Xuan, Yan-Jiang, Tong-Tang, and Xuan-Ning, and outside the province such as Yi-Ba, Da-Guang, Fu-Ji, Gan-Chong, and Yan-Wu. It has undertaken more than 100 super-large bridges and large bridges. The first phase of Huizhou Avenue South Section, a municipal project in Hefei undertaken by the company, won the Luban Award (National Quality Project) from the Ministry of Construction. The Tong-Tang Expressway undertaken by the company won the Zhan Tianyou Award. More than 50 projects have been rated as provincial or municipal high-quality projects. In recent years, the company has actively participated in the major construction of Hefei municipal works, successively undertaking key projects such as Jinzhai Road Viaduct, Meidan Road Bridge on Huizhou Avenue, the First Ring Road Smoothing Project, Hezuohua South Road Viaduct, and the South Second Ring Road reconstruction. The company has been awarded a series of honors including "Contract-Honoring and Credit-Trustworthy Unit" by the People's Government of Anhui Province, Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Award, Anhui Provincial Quality Management Award, the Ninth Anhui Provincial Civilized Unit, AAA-grade Credit Enterprise of Agricultural Bank of China, and Advanced Unit and Civilized Unit of Anhui Provincial Transportation System.
