Completed global multicenter Phase IIb clinical trial data show that compared with existing therapies, AR882 demonstrates greater efficacy and higher safety in treating gout patients; in addition to lowering serum uric acid (sUA), it significantly reduces tophi, alleviates uric acid crystal burden, and lowers the incidence of acute gout flares. In August 2024, AR882 received Fast Track Designation (FTD) from the U.S. FDA. Breakthrough treatment results in dissolving tophi were presented as a keynote speech at the 2023 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Meeting and featured at the 2024 European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR).
