China Datang Corporation Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Research Institute") was established in December 2013. It was formed in accordance with the requirements of the Group Company's Central Research Institute, and is a corporate research institute integrating strategic planning, scientific research and development, technical supervision, technical services, and scientific and technological information. Since its establishment, it has always adhered to the academic style of "emphasizing science", "emphasizing technology", "emphasizing democracy", and "emphasizing standards", and followed the four major development strategies of "relying on Datang, facing the industry, industrialization of technology, productization of achievements, green innovation and development, and comprehensive improvement".
Our institute has successively established six regional electric power research and testing institutes, as well as three directly affiliated institutions: Datang Smart Energy Technology Research Institute, Science and Technology Innovation Center, and Big Data Center. It also manages the Group's Metrology Center, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection and Testing Center, and Dam Safety Supervision and Management Center, forming a comprehensive, all-round, and all-weather complete and strict technical support system.
Our institute continuously consolidates the foundation of scientific and technological innovation, continuously increases research investment, and has built a Computing Center and an Intelligent and Simulation Technology Research Center. It has achieved 26 items* and 53 items* of scientific and technological achievements, led the compilation of 2 ISO international standards, obtained 1,912 patents, and received 122 industry-level or above science and technology awards. It won the first prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, the Golden Bridge Award for Advanced Collective issued by China Technology Market Association in 2018, the Meritorious Unit title issued by China Industrial Anti-Corrosion Technology Association in 2019, and was selected as a pilot enterprise for the "Science and Technology Reform Demonstration Action" of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council in 2020. It has also been awarded the titles of Beijing Enterprise Technology Center and Beijing Intellectual Property Demonstration Unit.
Our institute has a total of 880 talents with doctoral degrees, master's degrees, and senior professional titles. It has established an academician workstation, a postdoctoral research workstation, and a graduate workstation, initially forming a reasonable and sustainable professional talent echelon.
