Shanghai Siemens Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. (SSME), established in 1992, is one of the important global R&D and manufacturing centers for imaging and clinical equipment in the field of Siemens Healthineers. It is committed to the R&D and production of diagnostic equipment such as computed tomography (CT) and X-ray, as well as related medical components, and related customer services. The company's products are sold to more than 70 countries and regions worldwide. In 2007, SSME moved to the Shanghai International Medical Park (No. 278 Zhouzhu Highway), covering an area of 100,000 square meters. Currently, various R&D and production areas exceed 70,000 square meters, with more than 1,000 employees, of which more than one-third are R&D personnel. The newly built X-ray product building was completed and put into use in August 2013, further enhancing the company's product R&D and production capabilities to better meet the growing market demand.\n\nIn recent years, the company has continuously increased investment in R&D, successively developing and launching for medical users in China and globally a range of spiral CTs from dual-slice, 6-slice, 16-slice to the latest 64-slice (128-layer), as well as digital X-ray imaging systems, digital gastrointestinal machines, mammography X-ray imaging systems, and orthopedic C-arms and other X-ray imaging equipment. Taking CT products as an example, one out of every two Siemens CTs sold globally is from Shanghai Siemens Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. Approximately 70% of our CTs are exported to more than 150 countries and regions worldwide, including the European Union, the United States, Japan, and South Korea. The company is also the global R&D center for Siemens Healthineers' basic X-ray medical products.\n\nOver the years, the company has actively responded to the government's advocacy of independent innovation and spared no effort to improve local R&D capabilities. It has been repeatedly awarded the title of "High-tech Enterprise" by the Shanghai Municipal Government.
