Shanxi Provincial Guoxin Energy Development Group Co., Ltd. was established in 1981. It is a large-scale, modern, and diversified state-owned energy enterprise group, primarily engaged in three major industries: gas, coal transportation and sales, and trade. After withdrawing as the main body for integrating coal resources in the province, it was designated by the provincial government as the main force for gasifying Shanxi. In 2010, its operating revenue exceeded 10 billion yuan. In 2011, it entered the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises for the first time. In 2012, it ranked 409th among China's Top 500 Enterprises, 125th among China's Top 500 Service Enterprises, and 31st among China's Top 100 Coal Enterprises. By the end of 2012, the group's total assets reached 16 billion yuan, with 44 subsidiary companies, an annual coal transportation capacity of 50 million tons, and exclusive rights to operate 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas and leading rights to operate 20 billion cubic meters of mixed gas resources in the province.

It has gasified 91 counties (cities, districts) in the province, benefiting more than 3 million residents and nearly 10 million people. It supplies gas to 1,079 villages, 371 industrial users, and more than 7,000 commercial and public welfare users, and supports nearly 80,000 CNG/LNG vehicles. The province's gasification population rate is 27.7%, far exceeding the national average of 14%.

Entering the critical period of transformation and leapfrogging during the "12th Five-Year Plan," Guoxin Energy unswervingly follows the development path of low-carbon utilization of high-carbon energy, focusing on the development of three major industries, supported by ten major development projects, and concentrating efforts on building the gasification of Shanxi. Adhering to the "Guoxin Road" of "Gasifying Shanxi, Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, Low-Carbon Development, and Supporting Ecological Civilization Construction," the group strives to achieve the "12th Five-Year Plan" doubling target of 30 billion yuan in sales revenue and 500 million yuan in profit by 2013, two years ahead of schedule.
