Wuhan Planning & Design Co., Ltd. (WPDC) was established in 2012, formerly a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wuhan Planning & Research Institute. At the end of 2018, in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Wuhan Municipal Government, it was officially transferred to Wuhan 2049 Group Co., Ltd., becoming a subsidiary of the group. Currently, the company has 315 employees, including 6 with senior professional titles and 39 with associate senior professional titles; 2 with doctoral degrees and 123 with master's degrees. The company has 4 management departments, 8 design departments, and 2 subsidiaries (branches). These include the Comprehensive Department, Human Resources Department (Party and Mass Work Department), Marketing Department, Technology Department, Spatial Planning Institute, Urban and Rural Planning Institute, Landscape Architecture Institute, Architectural Design Institute, Architectural Creation Center, Transportation and Municipal Institute, Municipal Design Institute, Environmental Planning Institute, Guichuang Media Branch, and Zhiyue Water Ecology Subsidiary. Adhering to the philosophy of "Design, Leading Life," the company serves Wuhan's urban planning management and builds a design industry chain led by urban and rural planning. The company currently holds a Grade B qualification for urban and rural planning compilation, a Grade A qualification for the architectural industry (architectural engineering), a Grade A qualification for the municipal industry (road engineering, drainage engineering), a Grade B qualification for the municipal industry (bridge engineering), a Grade A qualification for landscape architecture engineering design, and a Grade C qualification for cultural relic protection engineering survey and design. It also has business capabilities in software development and 3D production for urban design. It is a vice president unit of the Wuhan Urban Planning Association and a supervisor unit of the Wuhan Survey and Design Association. In 2015, the company obtained the qualification of High-tech Enterprise of Hubei Province, and in 2016, it passed ISO9001 quality management certification.
